MediaFilez Desktop
A local-first Windows app for videos, galleries, and audio.
MediaFilez Desktop downloads public media on Windows 10 and 11. It is a Tauri/Rust app with a React interface, local history, and an output-folder picker.
Output and queue
The main modes are video, image/gallery, and audio. Muted video is an advanced video option. Video height preferences and audio formats depend on the source.
The app can run four jobs at once. It reports progress, speed, ETA, cancellation, retry, and history. Existing output files are not silently overwritten.

accTitle: Desktop local-first execution
accDescr: The Desktop queue normally uses local tools and saves on the device. Owner-approved remote fallbacks are optional.
U[Public media URL] --> D[Desktop queue]
D --> L[Local extraction tools]
L --> V[Validate output]
V --> F[Chosen folder on your device]
D -. Optional fallback .-> R[Owner-approved remote provider]
R --> VNormal operation uses local tools and does not require a MediaFilez partner API key. The app is not simply a frontend for the hosted worker. Optional remote providers can receive source links when configured.
Mode and source determine the fallback order. A direct file can be saved directly; supported webpages use installed extractors. Image/gallery and audio jobs do not necessarily use the same plan as video jobs.
Platforms
Windows 10 and 11 are current release targets. macOS and Linux packaging and managed tools are still in development. A Windows artifact does not run on another operating system.
