Build and run
Compile the Java CLI and inspect a direct media URL.
Requirements and build
Install JDK 17 or newer and Apache Maven. Run from the repository root.
On Windows x64:
git clone "https://github.com/MediaFilez/MediaAnalyzer.git"
Set-Location MediaAnalyzer
mvn package "-Djavacpp.platform=windows-x86_64"
java -jar target/media-analyzer-0.1.0-SNAPSHOT.jar "https://example.com/video.mp4"Replace the URL with a direct media file you may inspect. Run the JAR without an argument to enter the URL at its prompt.
The documented POM uses 0.1.0-SNAPSHOT for the artifact even though the repository has a v1.0.0 release tag. Use your build's actual filename, not an assumed media-analyzer-1.0.0.jar path.
Runtime libraries and platforms
The build copies dependencies into target/lib. Keep that directory beside the JAR when moving it. JavaCV includes FFmpeg libraries; this tool does not require a separate FFmpeg command-line installation.
On another supported platform, select its JavaCPP platform value or omit the restriction to include supported native libraries. Windows-only libraries cannot run on another OS.
Tests
mvn test "-Djavacpp.platform=windows-x86_64"Tests use a local HTTP server and generated fixtures. A successful report on one file does not verify every source or format.
